Symptoms
and Theory of Fibromyalgia:
|
The
major symptoms of fibromyalgia
include: sleep disorders, fatigue
(lack of energy), pain (in at
least 11 of 17 pressure points),
memory disorders, irritable bowel
syndrome, and depression. Each
of these symptoms is addressed
below, with comments based upon
Fibronol®’s
clinical study results including
how fibromyalgia patients
might better manage their symptoms
with Fibronol.
Sleep Disorders:
Sleep disorders appear to represent
a root cause of many of the symptoms
of fibromyalgia.
Fatigue:
Fatigue is a standard symptom
of both fibromyalgia.
Pain and Comfort:
|
The major change tends to
be perceived as a feeling
of improved "comfort",
not withstanding the continued
perception of pain. |
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
("IBS"):
IBS is characterized by alternating
constipation and diarrhea.
Memory Disorders:
Short-Term memory disorders are
a classic symptom of both fibromyalgia
and chronic fatigue syndrome.
Depression:
| Most
physicians regard the presence
of depression with fibromyalgia
patients to be a consequence
of the large negative impact
of sleep disorders, chronic
fatigue, and pain upon quality
of life. |
